We lost another great yesterday. I don't need to go over why Armstrong was one of my own personal heroes, or of his importance in the human story. The achievement of a generation can be encapsulated in the single image of his footprint on the lunar surface. What he, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins (to say nothing of the many, many folks at NASA) accomplished in the summer of 1969 remains awe-inspiring, despite the ravings of a number of people who have no idea what they're talking about. Godspeed, Neil. You will be missed.
